Sky cut through with
Ribbons of rain
Salt-white and red
Arrow-head tears
To drown the soil
Torn and turned
By blood-lust greed
Scarlet soaked through centuries
Of power-fuelled hate
And grabbing hands
That seize and claim
Breed fear and death
Through genes that choke
Acceptance, tolerance and love
Respect dies withered
Lifeless lost – a winter branch
Beats hard against
This Civilisation which
Barely masks
The animal within.
