Desert

Across shifting sands

You come to me

A mirage through the heat

Which burns our hearts

And turns our eyes

To empty shells of dust.

I’ll take the fire

Of salt crust lips

And wash it clear with mine

As in our presence

Oases thrive

With fingers brought to life.

Defy the storm

Tumultuous wind

A jealous raging Djinn

Which tears and taunts

But fails to find

A route towards our heart.
